Iranian actor Milad Kaymaram stars in a war drama as a well-known martyred pilot of the 1980s Iraq-Iran war.

With the 42nd Fajr Film Festival in Iran just on the horizon, cinephiles were treated to a sneak peek of Kaymaram's portrayal of Martyr Ali-Akbar Shiroudi in the Iranian new film ‘Sky of the West’.

As revealed by the film's Public Relations department, the image's release coincided with the completion of the movie's filming stage.

‘Sky of the West’, penned and directed by Mohammad Asgari and produced by Habib Valinejad, is now in the post-production phase.

The war action film offers a unique perspective, illustrating the courage, honor, and patriotism of the late fighter pilot Ali Akbar Shiroudi and his comrades during the early days of the Iraq-Iran war.

‘Sky of the West’ is Mohammad Asgari's second directorial effort after his film ‘The Mud Hut’ with casting updates for other actors in the film expected to be announced soon.

The cinematic endeavor is a joint product of the Farabi Cinema Foundation and the Soureh Cinema Organization, in collaboration with The Islamic Republic of Iran Army.

Pilot Shiroudi was martyred in 1982 after destroying several tanks of the Iraqi Baathist regime.

Headed by Mojtaba Amini, the 42nd International Fajr Film Festival takes place on February 1-11,
